The author will sign books at the DeBruce Center, adjacent to Allen Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Kansas in Lawrence. The DeBruce Center is home to Dr. James Naismith’s original and historic 13 typewritten rules of basketball, drafted in 1891.

The Independent Writers of Southern California will hold its semi-annual “IWOSC Reads Its Own,” an afternoon of eclectic and exemplary works, read aloud by distinguished IWOSC scribes, including the author of “This Was Never About Basketball.” Vroman’s Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, Calif. The event is free and open to the public. There is parking on the street and behind Vroman’s.
